Absentee Voting by Mail - Elector does not have to provide a reason for requesting an absentee ballot by mail. - Elector should complete an absentee ballot request application and return it to the elections office (hand delivery,fax, postal mail), once the application is received and approved a ballot will be mailed to the address noted on the application, Georgia law prohibits the hand delivery issuing of an absentee ballot. - Ballots should be returned to the elections office at least one day before the election or primary, only the elector is allow to hand deliver their ballot. - Ballots hand delivered by persons other than the elector themselves are only accepted if the elector is disabled - Ballots received after 7:00pm on Election Day are rejected, unless otherwise accepted under UOCAVA or SWAB laws. - The last day to request a mail-out absentee ballot is the Friday preceding the date of the Election
Absentee Voting in Person (this excludes Advance Voting) - You may vote absentee at the Elections Office as soon as ballots are available for voting - You will not have to provide a reason for voting Absentee in person - You WILL NEED to provide proper photo identification
Advance Voting - Advance Voting is held the entire week immediately preceding any Georgia Election - Advance voting week allows an elector to cast an in person absentee ballot in the allotted time period without have to provide a reason.
